Allele Admixture

As the Austronesians spread through Indonesia, they encountered local groups with Melanesian genetic ancestry and admixed (mated) with them. We can detect sex-biases in the admixture process by looking at the extent of Asian (Austronesian) ancestry in sex chromosomes, autosomes and mitochondrial DNA.
